Hello, my name is Adam!!!
I’m an almost 30 year old (29 in-fact) chap from sunny (mostly rainy) Swansea, Wales and have been bitten hard by the travel bug since 2009. On my first backpacking trip I backpacked across 8 countries in Europe over 2 months and since then I’ve been hooked.
Like most people I don’t have an endless pot of money to just travel around the world at my leisure so over the past several years my life has been trying to balance a job and travelling as often as possible. I utilise any holiday leave and always stand by my point that I will only take time off from work to get on a plane and travel (who takes a week off work and sits in the house???).
On August 11th 2016 I took the opportunity of a lifetime and did something every travel lover wants to do. I quit my job, boarded a plane with no return date in mind and never looked back. It had always been a dream of mine to take extended time away from a working life and just travel so when the chance came to do it there was no doubt in my mind what I was going to do. After over 5 months on the road and having traveled over 13 countries in Asia I returned to Wales on January 12th 2017.
Now, back in Wales I have found a new career in the education sector and will be balancing a life of work and travel making the most of every opportunity I have to continue exploring. My holiday leave will be used for bigger trips to far away destinations and weekend trips in Europe with a low budget in mind.
I started Touch The World Travel when I departed for Asia in 2016, firstly to keep friends and family updated with my trip but my goal is to now continue blogging about my future trips, balancing a work/travel life and giving guidance to other travelers.
Some other things about me:
- A hot coffee in the morning is essential
- Local beers in local bars with local people is the best way for me to experience a new place
- I eat A LOT of food
- I spent most of my spare time reading, researching and planning anything travel related
