The Madness In Mumbai

The Madness In Mumbai…

After blowing off a bit of steam in Goa and with a couple of nights out on the beer my next stop was to experience the madness in Mumbai. Originally I was going to take the train but with what tickets were left it wasn’t much more expensive to fly and given the fact it would be around 15 hours by train the flight was definitely the most appealing option. My friend Depak who I had been catching up with in Goa had arranged for his landlord to drop me off at the airport. I arrived in Mumbai early evening ...

History And Culture In Udaipur

History And Culture In Udaipur…

Onwards I went to the history and culture in Udaipur. The train journey from Mumbai to Udaipur was a long one and 16 hours 30 minutes later the train rolled into the train station. I exited and was greeted by a tuk tuk driver who offered to take me to my hostel for 150 Rupees (Around £1.60) and as I had very little energy to haggle I accepted and 10 minutes later arrived in at Bunkyard Hostel. The hostel had come highly recommended from booking.com and after being shown to my room and then taken to the rooftop terrace I ...

Exploring The Andaman Islands…

Once the glamour of the Formula 1 had finished it was again time to move on. My next destination was India and more specifically exploring the Andaman Islands, which you will find in the Indian Ocean between India and Thailand. It wasn't the most glamorous airport I had been to and still used as a military airport. Once I stepped off the plane a man shouting and pointing hauled everyone ...

UNESCO World Heritage Town Mahabalipuram…

I returned from the Andaman Islands and spent a night in Chennai while I waited for a friend of mine to arrive and join me for 10 days travelling the South of India to Cochin. Prior to flying to the Andaman Islands I had already spent a couple of nights in Chennai so I used the time to sort through my photo’s and get some rest before a 5 week journey to Northern India began. I stayed at Hotel Poigai. The next part of the Indian adventure was the UNESCO World Heritage town Mahabalipuram. I picked up my friend from ...

Next Stop Madurai

Next Stop Madurai…

After what was a short but interesting stay in Mahabalipuram it was time to move on to the next stop Madurai for a couple of days. The last night was spent deciding the best way to get to Madurai and in the end it was a lot easier and cheaper to book a cheap flight from Chennai. There were no direct buses from Mahabalipuram. Our options would be a £120 private car, a long bus journey from Chennai (meaning going a couple of hours in the wrong direction back to central Chennai to then get ANOTHER bus back into this ...
